Apple removes all vaping apps

16 Nov 2019. Apple has removed all apps related to e-cigarettes and vaping from its app store amid health concerns linked to the products, reported CBS News.

The company said they were taking down a total of 181 vaping apps due to recent concerns regarding deaths and lung injuries that have been linked to vaping and e-cigarettes.

According to CBS News, the apps that were removed from the store include ones for controlling the device’s temperature and lighting as well as various news and gaming apps. The company explained that customers who have already purchased the apps would be able to continue using them on other devices.

"Recently, experts ranging from the CDC to the American Heart Association have attributed a variety of lung injuries and fatalities to e-cigarette and vaping products, going so far as to call the spread of these devices a public health crisis and a youth epidemic," Apple said.
