Smoking trends in England

01 Jan 2020. Between 2011 and 2018, the number of cigarettes smoked in England decreased by around 1.4 billion cigarettes a year. A study conducted by researchers at University College London and funded by Cancer Research UK examined sales data across the seven-year period and compared it with survey results from the Smoking Toolkit Study.
