Rhodia Acetow increases capacity

25 Jan 2012. German manufacturer of cellulose acetate fibre, Rhodia Acetow, today announced an increase of its tow production capacity by 4,000 tonnes a year.

The majority of this additional production capacity will be used for the production of super slim filters in Freiburg, said the company.

The company also invests in several projects that significantly reduce the use of energy at its headquarters in Freiburg, Germany.

Rhodia Acetow, member of the Solvay group, is the third largest producer of cellulose acetate tow with production facilities in Europe, Russia, USA and Brazil.

Acetate fibre is an essential material in the manufacture of cigarette acetate filters. (ci)
