Mining magnate to seek billions from cigarette makers

02 Oct 2017. Billionaire mining magnate Andrew Forrest is readying legal action seeking billions in damages from tobacco companies as part of a campaign to raise the smoking age to 21 from 18, the Australian Associated Press reported.

The legal “assault” will be co-ordinated by the Eliminate Cancer Initiative, which is part of the Minderoo Foundation philanthropic organisation headed by Forrest’s wife, Nicola, the AAP said.
