Teen smoking rate plunges

07 Jun 2018. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported that the percentage of US high school teen smokers has decreased from 24.2 per cent in 2011 to 19.6 per cent in 2017, Daily Mail reported.

The CDC report found that tobacco use was down from 2.95 million users in 2011 to 3.69 million in 2017. According to the report, almost half of those students who consume tobacco products use two or more products.

Vaping appeared to be the most popular form of consuming tobacco among US teens. The CDC report found that 12 per cent of high school students and 3 per cent of middle school students vape, Daily Mail reported.
