The company plans to sell its NJOY vape products in blueberry and watermelon flavours but in a way that will make sure kids have no way of using them, reports Bloomberg.

Flavoured vapes have become a topic of discussion after a peak in young adults and children found to be using the products. Altria Group Inc. wants to keep selling its NJOY vape products in flavours such as blueberry and watermelon but says it has found a way to keep them “adults-only”.
The company says it will use a yet unnamed Bluetooth technology to make sure that underage use is made impossible and only adults will be able to use the products. “We’ve demonstrated the age-gating restrictions are effective at preventing underage access in virtually all cases,” Chief Executive Officer Billy Gifford said, according to a transcript of the company’s webcast.
According to Bloomberg, Altria is currently finalizing submissions to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to sell its NJOY vape products in blueberry and watermelon flavours and is waiting to hear back from the FDA on a menthol version, Gifford said.
Moving forward, Altria plans to sell its regular tobacco flavoured NJOY products in 100,000 stores in 2024 up from 75,000 last year and will also expand its oral nicotine pouches On! Plus in Sweden as well as launching the pouches in the UK later this year.
