The Court of Appeal heard arguments from leading tobacco companies against a High Court ruling that found imposition of plain packaging for tobacco products lawful in all respects, the Press Association reported.
Four days of hearings before a three-judge panel began 18 Oct on complaints by Imperial Tobacco, Japan Tobacco International and British American Tobacco. Philip Morris International, though party to the complaint heard before the High Court, said it would drop the matter following the ruling by Justice Nicholas Green just prior to introduction of plain packaging in May.
