About 155 million kilograms of flue-cured tobacco, more than last year, have been sold under contract and via auctions slated to conclude on 5 July after 99 days, the Zimbabwe Herald reported.
Sales by day 93 of this year netted USD 573 million (EUR 440 million). Last year totals for 145 days of auction selling were 144 million kg for USD 527 million, the Herald said in a story citing the Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board. Depending on volume of late deliveries, the sales may be extended for another day, according to the Herald.
