British American Tobacco (BAT) Korea said it has raised the price of its cigarette products by KRW 200 (EUR 0.13) to KRW 2,700 (EUR 1.70) per pack on rising raw material prices.
According to The Korea Herald, the price increase of 8 per cent is the first in six years for the firm which holds an 18 per-cent-market share in the country. It is widely known for popular brands such as Dunhill, Kent and Vogue.
Other tobacco firms said they did not plan to raise prices following their competitor’s steps. (sra)
