British American Tobacco Chief Operating Officer John Daly will step down in December, and work on the transition of key projects before retiring from the Board next April, the company said.
Daly began his career at BAT 19 years ago and has held senior posts in the Middle East, North Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. He joined the Management Board in 2004 and Main Board as chief operating officer in 2010.
A successor in the COO position is not planned at the moment, the cigarette company said. Four regional directors and the group operations director will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Nicandro Durante as of 1 Jan, 2014.
“John has played a huge role in the history of British American Tobacco”, Durante said. “He leaves behind a true leadership legacy.”
