Government officials have prepared a draft bill which if passed would mean Poland would introduce a ban on smoking in public places.
Under the new regulations, a total ban on smoking in work places as well as in public offices, railway stations, airports, hospitals, cinemas, cafes, restaurants and pubs would take place. Pubs can be exempted from the ban if they have hermetically-sealed and air-conditioned rooms for smokers. The bill also forbids smoking while driving a car as well as by passengers in a car where a child under 13 is a passenger. The first reading of the bill will be held on Monday.
