Azerbaijan has increased excise tax rates on imports of cigarettes and other tobacco products, Trend News Agency reported.

The excise tax on imported cigarettes will increase from AZN 10 (EUR 5.11) to AZN 28 (EUR 14.32) per 1,000 cigarettes, according to the report. In addition to that, the rate on cigarillo imports will increase from AZN 10 to AZN 20 per 1,000 cigarillos. The report added that cigars will be taxed AZN 1 per cigar.
The tax increase will also apply to imported cigarettes, cigarillos and cigars with a tobacco substitute. The newly introduced excise tax on the imported e-cigarette liquids is set at AZN 20 per litre, Trend News Agency reported.
