Yunnan Tobacco International will purchase 10,000 tonnes of tobacco this season following a bilateral trade agreement with China signed in 2013, according to the Daily News of Tanzania.
Next year the amount could be higher, Yunnan Tobacco International Vice-president Yang Xuemei told the online newspaper. Tanzania is the fourth largest tobacco producer in Africa, behind Malawi, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, and ranks 15th in the world, the newspaper said.
