UPM Raflatac and Logopak announce collaboration offering the first robust linerless solution in print and apply labelling, according to a joint press release.

Label manufacturer UPM Raflatac and industrial labelling and identification solutions provider Logopak have joined forces to provide customers with the first robust linerless solution in print and apply labelling. Linerless labelling means omitting the label liner which in turn significantly increases the running length and capacity of the label rolls, saving costs, and benefitting the environment by reducing the CO2 footprint in production and logistics. As a first step the collaboration will improve especially the automatic labelling of secondary packaging, according to the press release.
The collaboration between UPM Raflatec and Logopak will benefit customers thanks to the high compatibility between Logopak’s linerless labelling technology and UPM Raflatac’s Linerless Opticut™ label material. According to the press release, Logopak has tested the functionality of the linerless printing with more than one million cuts with UPM Raflatac’s OptiCut material without any significant pollution or major abrasion of the cutter. Logopak’s fully automated Logomatic 410 Linerless labelling system provides sustainable, flexible, and budget-friendly labelling of secondary packaging and shipping cartons. UPM Raflatac’s Linerless Opticut is a labelling material that prevents paper jamming and provides excellent adhesion with minimal adhesive build-up.
