The Court of Appeal issued a 30-day stay order on implementing new regulations for tobacco products to give retailers more time to sell non-compliant inventory, the Daily Nation reported.
Changes include mandatory graphic warnings on packaging and a ban on the sale of single cigarettes, the newspaper said on its website. Huge losses for nearly 60,000 dealers and retailers had been predicted without more time to sell old stock.
