Embossing, metallic effects, shiny colours and holograms will be banned from cigarette packs, tobacco pouches, shisha and cigarillos from next July, the NL Times reported.
State Secretary Martin van Rijn of Public Health announced the coming changes, the English-language website said. Also scheduled for extinction on tobacco packaging from 1 July, 2017 are special packaging geared to events and smell, taste, sound and light effects such as a characteristic odor when the pack is opened, NL Times said. Only matte and smooth finishes will be allowed.
