Exceptions to the general ban on tobacco advertising, including posters at public transport stops, could be banned from June, 2020, the Rheinische Post newspaper said.
Documents reportedly obtained by the newspaper outline plans by the Chancellery and Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection to ban the advertising of tobacco products at transport stops and on advertising columns from 2020.
Advertising of tobacco products in cinema screenings open to persons below the age of 18 year could also be banned, the newspaper revealed.
