Independent farmers have been left with more than three million kilogrammes in unsold tobacco as buyers prefer purchasing from sponsored growers, the Times of Zambia reported.
Tobacco Board of Zambia (TBZ) Chief Executive Officer Samson Muyembe, told farmers to remain calm as TBZ had entered into negotiations with Tombwe Processing Limited (TPL) to buy the remaining tobacco, the newspaper said.
