The Food and Drug Administration extended deadlines for ingredient listing and for submitting health documentation by six months to tobacco companies affected by recent hurricanes and wildfires.
“The FDA is aware that tobacco manufacturers and importers in the affected areas are dealing with extraordinary circumstances and may need additional time to meet certain requirements,” the tobacco product regulator said. Hurricane-struck counties in Florida and Texas qualify for relaxed regulation, as do Puerto Rico and other Caribbean jurisdictions. Seven California counties qualify due to wildfires.
