The FDA has recently heightened its warning against consumers using THC products, according to a company press release.

In light of reports of more than 1,000 lung injuries across the US, the FDA has strengthened its warning against the use of vaping products that contain THC, the psychoactive component of marijuana. The FDA is working closely with the U.S. Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as both local and state health officials, to identify these illnesses and injuries as quickly as possible.
Symptoms of these illnesses are coughs, a shortness of breath or chest pain after using vaping products. The FDA is recommending consumers avoid vaping products that contain THC, but particularly those that have been purchased off the street or from other illicit sources. Vaping products which were purchased through retail establishments should not have THC or other oils added to them, either.
The press release also stated that no single cause has, as of yet, been identified in all of the samples so far tested. The FDA’s Forensic Chemistry Centre is currently analysing hundreds of samples for the presence of a broad range of chemicals, including nicotine, THC and other cannabinoids as well cutting agents and other additives, pesticides, poisons, heavy metals and toxins.
