Filtrona launches BOREAS™ filters

Filtrona, the global market leader in the design, testing, and manufacture of special filter solutions, is extending its legacy of innovation by introducing a new range of Heated Tobacco Product (HTP) filters – the BOREAS™ range, according to a company press release.

The launch comes amidst substantial growth in the HTP market driven by rising consumer preference for reduced risk products* and smoke-free alternatives.
The new range includes BOREAS™ SideFlow, a patent pending filter with a simplified design, and BOREAS™ CoolBridge filter that combines the company’s sustainable cooling segment, ECO™ Paper Bridge, with mono acetate and the patented Finewall Tube, to create a balanced retention and cooling mechanism.
The new BOREAS™ range gives customers the option to create a customised, multi-segment filter by combining various types of base rods that are available in Filtrona’s comprehensive collection, according to the press release.
“As more of our customers move into the rapidly growing HTP market, the launch of our BOREAS™ range of HTP filters is timely and exciting for consumers and the wider industry alike. We are thrilled to support our customers with a dedicated range of HTP filters that bear the hallmark of our innovative and unique designs,” said Hugo Azinheira, Global Director of Innovation and ESG at Filtrona.
“We have the capability to design unique and complex filters not only for combustibles, but also for HTPs. As consumer demand for HTPs continues to grow, Filtrona’s new BOREAS™ range will enable HTP manufacturers to deliver the next generation of products that deliver the expected level of quality and user experience compared to conventional cigarettes whilst also meeting regulatory requirements.”
