The Jordanian government has announced that it has ended its long-standing monopoly on the import of foreign cigarettes
Mr Samir Haddad, a government spokesman, said that the cabinet has decided to allow private companies to import cigarettes. He said that the price of imported cigarettes would be floated to facilitate competition.
