The Pakistani ministry of health has planned to amend national regulations regarding health warnings on tobacco products to meet the requirements of the Framework Convention for Tobacco Control (FCTC).
According to official sources, health warnings on tobacco products will have to be rotated on a six-monthly basis, starting on 1 January 2009.
One of the major FCTC requirements is to ensure that tobacco products carry proper health warnings for consumers about the hazards of smoking. Pakistan will fulfill its commitments regarding new tobacco packaging regulations.
