Coesia Group, through its sister company GD, has acquired Sasib S.p.A at the end of October, said GD in a press release of today.

Coesia aquired Sasib, a manufacturer of specialist automatic machinery for the tobacco industry, from Paritel, an Italian engineering business, which acquired Sasib in July 2006.
GD, one of the major suppliers of cigarette making and packing machines, announced that Sasib will continue to operate at its headquarters in Castelmaggiore, Bologna, and will remain an independent company, but will benefit from the worldwide GD sales network. "In the last few years, [Sasib] has developed innovative competencies and technologies [and] has a large installed base, made of makers and packers, in various world markets," said GD.
Founded in 1915, Sasib's turnover in 2010 was EUR 19 million. Sasib was owned by Molins from 2003 until 2006. (ci/red)
