Godfrey Phillips India (GPI), the country's second-largest cigarette player has begun test marketing India’s first clove cigarette, the Cluv Spice.
The 10-stick pack is priced at INR 25 (EUR 0.38) in the largest 69 mm format available in the industry.
"Globally, and specifically in Indonesia, there is a growing demand for cigarettes based on the addition of processed natural clove. In India, clove is linked to oral hygiene and is perceived to have mouth-freshening qualities," a company spokesperson said.
