The government plans to appeal a court injunction stopping implementation of 85 per cent cigarette-pack warning labels until industry objections are heard, Reuters reported.
An appeal of the Central Administrative Court action will be filed within two weeks to the Supreme Administrative Court, Reuters said in a story citing Nopporn Cheanklin, deputy director of the Disease Control Department at the Health Ministry.
The regulation to increase graphic warnings to 85 per cent of the front and back of cigarette packs was to have taken effect on 2 October. Warnings currently cover 55 per cent of the front and back.
