The Ministry of Finance in a regulatory filing said the government will sell 333 million shares of its stake in Japan Tobacco Inc. in a transaction expected to raise more than USD 10 billion for tsunami rebuilding, Reuters reported.
The deal will be priced between 11-13 March, the news agency reported. The government expects to spend about USD 270 billion (EUR 205 billion) to repair damage along the northeast coast from the 2011 earthquake and tsunami. (pi)
