Manufacturers, importers and sellers of vapour and heated-tobacco products (HTPs) will be required to print graphic health warnings on packaging, reports Vapor Voice.
As per latest government requirements, the sale of vapour products and HTPs is now limited to over 21s. The new warnings are part of the country’s “sin tax” laws and must be implemented within 18 months. The Department of Health will issue templates for the warnings and act as a regulating agency along with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The agencies will have authority over packaging, advertising and distribution, while the FDA will also conduct scientific studies on the health impact of the products in question, reports Vapor Voice.
The Department of Budget and Management will allocate the tax funds from the products and the Department of Finance and the Bureau of Internal Revenue will determine the rules for setting floor prices.
