Liquid nicotine used in electronic cigarettes is a controlled substance under the Poisons Act of 1952 and its use in the product will be closely monitored, the Bernama news agency reported.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said adding liquid nicotine can be more harmful than normal cigarettes, and that smokers should use e-cigarettes without nicotine if they want to quit the habit, Bernama reported. “We hope the public will take this seriously as the use of liquid nicotine is dangerous,” he reportedly said.
