Pictorial health warnings on tobacco products will be expanded next April to 85 per cent of package surface area from the current 40 per cent, The New Indian Express reported.
The Ministry of Health notified the Press Trust of India of the new date from which larger pack warnings will be required, the newspaper said.
In March the government delayed implementation of the larger health warnings which were set to take effect as of 1 April, 2015.
