An SSB survey shows that Norway is still the most expensive country for tobacco and alcohol with prices 120 per cent above the European average, reports Norway Today.

The new figures from the European Purchasing Power Survey 2020, Statistics Norway (SSB) show that Norway has remained the most expensive country for tobacco and alcohol, a title it has held for many years. Surprisingly, the difference in average has actually gone down with prices of tobacco and alcohol 136 per cent above average in 2019, reports Norway Today.
According to the SSB survey, the price level in Norway is well above the European average at 39 per cent making it the third most expensive country in terms of food and beverage costs. Only Denmark (40 per cent) and Switzerland (70 per cent) ranked higher. Turkey has the lowest prices that are 62 per cent lower than the average.
