Authorities shut down an illegal cigarette factory in northern Bulgaria, seizing machinery and materials that included about 13 tons of tobacco, the Sofia News Agency reported.
Located in the town of Lukovit, the factory’s output was bound both for domestic and foreign markets, according to the report posted on the news agency’s novinite.com website. Officials from the Interior Ministry, Customs Agency and Chief Directorate for Organised Crime conducted the raid on the facility, which the news agency said was run from abroad by an organised crime group.
