The British cigarette maker will begin selling Pulze, its heat-not-burn (HNB) product, from 6 May in Fukuoka, Japan, according to a company statement, Bloomberg reported.
Imperial is trying the HNB segment which it contends could add an additional USD 2 billion in revenue by the 2020 fiscal year, according to the report. Euromonitor predicted that the share of heated-tobacco segment in Japan will increase from 17 per cent in 2018 to 26 per cent by 2022, Bloomberg reported.
The company said that the Pulze has high and low temperature modes and allows users to smoke as many as 20 tobacco sticks in one charge, according to the report.
