Indonesia on 20 Sept became the fifth country to file a complaint with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) against Australia’s tobacco plain-packaging law, the WTO said.

Indonesia’s request for consultations with Australia under the WTO dispute settlement system alleges the Australian law is inconsistent with that country’s obligations under three international trade agreements, the trade organisation said. Ukraine, Honduras, Dominican Republic and Cuba also have sought redress with the WTO.
