Industry is Top Employer

British American Tobacco (BAT), Philip Morris International (PMI) and Japan Tobacco International (JTI) have repeatedly received top marks as employers.

Certification is granted by the Top Employers Institute, an independent organisation that studies the employee offerings of major employers around the world.

BAT is pleased to be certified as a Global Top Employer for a sixth successive year. Hae In Kim, Director, Talent, Culture and Inclusion at BAT, said: “We are delighted to have been recognised once again as a Global Top Employer. Our people are our most important asset as we strive to build A Better Tomorrow. The BAT ethos sets a clear direction for us to enable a diverse and inclusive workplace culture and we are committed to attracting, developing and retaining a talented workforce by putting our people first.” In 2023, BAT has been named as a Top Employer in a total of 37 countries across the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. Certification this year marks the first time BAT’s U.S. subsidiary, Reynolds American Inc, has been named as a Top Employer in the United States.

PMI has been certified as a Global Top Employer for a seventh consecutive year. “We’re proud to be one of just 15 international organizations awarded global Top Employer certification for 2023,” said Charles Bendotti, Senior Vice President for People & Culture. “It’s a recognition of our continued excellence in HR and our agility in meeting the needs of a modern workforce.”

On top of the global recognition, JTI once again was certified across five regions: North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa which corresponds to 62 countries worldwide. “Being certified as global top employer for the 9th year in a row is a celebration of everyone at JTI who brings their passion and commitment to work, every single day,” said Guergana Andreeva, Senior Vice President People & Culture and Corp. Security.
