Japan Tobacco’s domestic cigarette sales volume during January dropped 3.8 per cent to 5.9 billion sticks, according to the company’s preliminary report released by the company.
JT’s domestic market share was 61.1 per cent in January, compared with 61.8 per cent for all of 2018, the company said. The company shipped 5.9 billion cigarettes in January, down 200 million from the prior January. Cigarette revenue increased 3.6 per cent to JPY 37.9 billion (EUR 301 million).
