Japan Tobacco (JT) will launch three “palm-sized,” lower cost variants of its popular Winston cigarette brand from late February in its domestic market, the company said.

Winston mini Bitter Red 12, mini Straight Blue Eight and mini Sweet White One will retail for JPY 380 (EUR 3.12) versus JPY 420 for regular Winstons. The number in the brand name signifies tar content of 12 mg, 8 mg and 1 mg. Nicotine content also varies.
“Winston has prepared a lineup that allows a variety of taste types to be enjoyed. These include a “bitter type”, with a roasted taste; a “straight type”, with a clear and smooth taste; and a “sweet type”, with a mellow taste,” JT said.
