Japan Tobacco (JT) agreed to sell its vending machine business and two beverage brands to Suntory Beverage & Food for JPY 150 billion (EUR 1.12 billion) as part of its plan to divest its beverage business by autumn, the cigarette maker said.
JT said it is considering revising its forecast for the current fiscal year in light of the sale, which is subject to regulatory approval. In February the company said it would withdraw from the manufacture and sale of beverage products and set a target of the end of September, 2015.
