Starting 17 July, Juul e-cigarettes will be sold in England and Scotland, CNBC reported.
According to recent Nielsen figures, the San Francisco-based company, Juul Labs, is the e-cigarette market leader in the United States with a 68 per cent market share, CNBC reported.
Juul’s UK starter kit, which will be sold for 29.99 GBP (EUR 33.93), is said to have most of the same flavours as the kit sold in the United States, CNBC reported. The names of the flavours and nicotine strength of the pods, however, will be a little different.
According to the report, the UK pods will be sold in 1.7 per cent nicotine level strength to comply with the European Union Tobacco Products Directive, which is lower than the 5 per cent nicotine concentration found in most US pods.
Juul Labs, however, recently announced that its flavours mint and Virginia tobacco would be available in 3-per cent nicotine strength pods in the US soon.
