Tobacco auctions in Karnataka will begin on 14 Sept at all of the dozen auction platforms located in the state, the Times of India reported.
This year’s quota as set by the Tobacco Board for the state is 95 million kgs, down from around 100 million kgs last year, the Times said. Auctions in the state of Andhra Pradesh are nearly concluded with almost 117 million kgs sold against this year’s crop authorization of 120 million kgs, the newspaper said on its website.
