Kyrgyzstan tobacco growers are expecting a higher crop this year as reported by the national news agency, KABAR.
Dry weather hampered crop yields in 2006. As such, 30 per cent of the crop was lost, but this spring’s weather conditions have given much more hope to tobacco farmers. In 2006, 13 million kilos of oriental tobacco leaf were harvested in Kyrgyzstan, up just 2 per cent from 2005.
