Reynolds American Inc (RAI) elected Robert Lerwill to serve as one of five RAI board members designated by Brown & Williamson (B&W) Holdings, the company said.
As a Class II director, Lerwill will serve on the compensation and leadership development committee of RAI’s board of directors. He will be one of five B&W directors at RAI, the company said. B&W is a subsidiary of British American Tobacco (BAT). The RAI board composition stems from the 2004 business combination pact between Reynolds, B&W and BAT under which RAI was created.
Lerwill is a former chief executive of Aegis Group, a communications, media and market research company. He served on BAT’s board of directors from 2005 to 2013. He fills the RAI board vacancy created by the death of Sir Nicholas Scheele last year.
