Lorillard recalled non-menthol cigarettes made over a two-day period because some may contain small bits of plastic, the company said.
The voluntary recall covers Newport non-menthol box 80’s and box 100’s manufactured on June 29 and 30 and was issued “out of an abundance of caution,” the company said. The Food and Drug Administration was notified and made recommendations, according to Lorillard.
“At this point, no plastic has been found in any of the cigarettes,” Lorillard said on 19 July. (ci)
