M-real Corporation's Board of Directors is proposing to the AGM, scheduled for 28 March 2012, a change of the company's business name to Metsä Board Corporation.

The company's website was changed to reflect the new name on 10 February 2012. (See www.metsaboard.com). The e-mail addresses of staff at M-real are changed to firstname.lastname@metsagroup.com.
Metsäliitto Group, the holding company of M-real, changes its name to Metsä Group and adopts a new corporate identity. "The new names and the new identity represent the final stage in a profound restructuring based on the Group’s strategy. The purpose of the process has been to create a unified and competitive forest industry group," said the company.
The new company logo consists of the company name, Metsä (finnish for forest), and the head of a moose holding a forest on its antlers.
The new corporate identity does not affect the structure of the Group or the legal status of the companies. The name of Metsä Group’s parent company, Metsäliitto Cooperative, does not change and it continues to be a cooperative.
Metsä Group’s business areas are Metsä Tissue, Metsä Board, Metsä Fibre, Metsä Wood and Metsä Forest. (ci)
