The Madern Group announced last week the purchase of Xynatech, Inc., a major supplier of wrap-around plates and dies used for the converting of paper and folding cartons.
The Dutch group, which comprises Madern International, Madern USA and Evers and which claims that it is the largest manufacturer of rotary dies and equipment for the folding carton industry, announced the takeover of US company, Xynatech.
“With the strategic acquisition of Xynatech and its synergy with the Madern Group, it will accelerate further developments of low-cost rotary tooling for the folding carton industry,” said Jean Madern, president of the Madern Group, headquartered in Vlaardingen, The Netherlands.
The original owners of Xynatech, Jim Redd and Pierson Kang, who invented the etching technology, will continue to be employed by Madern for the foreseeable future. Xynatech will continue to sell rotary die products from its current locations in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
