Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the Senate will not vote this year on the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), effectively leaving the fate of the trade pact to the next Administration, the Capitol Hill publication Roll Call said.
McConnell told the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation the TPP was flawed and would require modification, Roll Call reported. McConnell previously had ruled out a vote before the election on 8 Nov. Delaying a Senate vote into 2017 means the end of a drive by outgoing President Barack Obama for TPP approval before he leaves office in January.
