AR Packaging, based in Lund, Sweden, will be sold to the private equity company CVC Capital Partners, the companies announced.

CVC will acquire all of the company from current owners Ahlstrom Capital and Accent Equity. “We believe there are significant opportunities to grow the business organically and through acquisitions,” said Peter Törnquist, chairman of CVC Nordic.
AR’s Branded Products division does confectionary and tobacco packaging, including hinge lids, display cartons and gas-tight packaging systems for roll-your-own products. The company was was formed in 2011 through the merger of carton-board packager A&R Carton and Flextrus, which specialized in flexible packaging. AR employs 2,200 people at 17 factories located in nine countries.
