Schweitzer Maudit International, Inc.has announced the start-up of a new long fibre paper machine at its Papeteries de Maudit subsidiary in Quimperle (as announced in TJI 5/96)
The new paper machine and associated converting equipment cost US$ 24 million and will add approximately 6000 tonnes of annual capacity for the production of long-fibre products such as highly porous tobacco-related papers, alkaline battery separator paper, liners for vacuum cleaner bags, and overlay papers.
