Pennsylvania will challenge an 11 Sept arbitration ruling on contested Master Settlement Agreement (MSA) payments from 2003, the Associated Press reported.
Arbitrators ruled on whether 15 states diligently pursued collections from companies not part of the MSA, penalizing some states and awarding money to others in a decision that also returned funds to some MSA participant tobacco companies. According to the AP, Pennsylvania faces a USD 170 million (EUR 126 million) shortfall in next year’s budget due to the arbitration ruling.
