Nationals and expats in Kuwait spent KWD 43.7 million (USD 144 million) on tobacco products in the first nine months of 2021, Gulf News reported.
Exports of tobacco products were USD 3.7 million in the first nine months of 2021, the report said.
The economic cost of smoking in Kuwait amounts to USD 76 million including direct costs related to healthcare expenditures and indirect costs related to lost productivity due to early mortality and morbidity.
